20121015- Vandalism Closes Montrose Pool.
With the new swimming pool not due to open until the middle of November, Montrose now has no swimming facilities following a mindless act of vandalism at the old pool at The Mall. Two panes of glass were smashed by vandals throwing a snooker ball. Staff discovered the damage on Monday morning and had to close the pool after finding glass in and at the side of the pool. With the pool taking up to two weeks to empty, clean and refill and bring up to temperature local swimmers will have to wait until the new pool facilities at the Sports Centre open. Other leisure facilities at The Mall are unaffected.
