20191206- Brechin Guildry Dinner
The Dean of Guild, Mr David Robinson, welcomed a company of 66 Guildrymen and their Guests to the Annual Dinner of the Guildry Incorporation of Brechin in the Mechanics’ Institute on Friday evening.
Rev Dr Wayne Pearce, Minister of Edzell, proposed the toast to “The City and Trades of Brechin” particularly encouraging the Guildrymen to support Brechin Cathedral, where the future is at present uncertain. The reply was given most ably by Guildryman Ken Ferguson.
The toast to “The Guildry of Brechin” was given by the Rt. Rev Andrew Swift, Bishop of Brechin, who gave an extremely thoughtful talk The Dean gave a most appreciative reply.
Mr Gary Johnston proposed the toast to “Our Guests” and the celebrated raconteur Cmdr. Jim Smith RN Retd. responded vividly on their behalf.
The final toast of the evening was to “The Dean”, proposed by Mr David Howson, the immediate Past Dean of the Guildry.
Catering for the Dinner’s five courses was provided excellently by the George Hotel of Montrose.
